Rising cost of borrowing impacts cost-rental homes

At the beginning of May 2022, the Housing Finance Agency (HFA) said its lending rates for Affordable Housing Bodies (AHBs), which develop cost-rental properties, were increasing to 2.5% for a 30-year fixed loan. Home buyers need bigger incomes to secure property these days

New housing report punts vacant homes tax

An Oireachtas Joint Committee on Housing report into urban regeneration to be published today (Tuesday, 24 May, 2022) recommends that Government consider a vacant homes tax. The report also states that the imminent zoned land tax should be increased by more than 3%. New fuel subsidy applications deadline for hauliers

Hauliers have until 6 June 2022 to apply for the government fuel subsidy of EUR 100 a week. Almost 3 000 operators have benefited from the scheme to date.
