Vets and veterinary nurses working in Ireland

Increased volume of vets and veterinary nurses will benefit animal health

Fewer people will be homeowners by retirement, study shows

New research published 6 July, 2022 by the Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI) finds that fewer people will be homeowners by the time they retire. The research – funded by the Pensions Council – estimates that 65% of those currently aged 35-44 are likely to become homeowners by retirement given current trends, compared to 90% of those currently aged 65+. Vacant homes to face a new tax in upcoming budget

Minister Paschal Donohoe has indicated that vacant homes will face a new tax in the next budget. This comes as new figures show that just over 57,000, or 3%, of habitable properties eligible to pay the LPT are vacant. Septic tank system inspections to increase due to high failure volume
