National grain harvest ahead of schedule – IFA

The national grain harvest is significantly ahead of normal due to the recent August heatwave conditions, according to IFA Grain Committee Members. Irish pig prices below breakeven for farmers

Irish producers are receiving up to 20c less than €2.20/kg – the price that Teagasc estimates is breakeven. Some farmers are reporting current losses of more than €25/pig.
