IMMA celebrates National Heritage Week

National Heritage Week

The Irish Museum of Modern Art celebrates National Heritage Week 2022 with a programme of family art workshops and outdoor activities for all ages to enjoy.

Enjoy creative family time with Explorer at the Pavilion on Sunday, 21 August at 2pm. This involves an art workshop on the front lawn. Based on artworks from IMMA’s exhibitions, families can discover their inner artist at an art workshop on the front lawn. Places are limited. Ask at Main Reception for directions to the workshop space on the day.

The new IMMA Past Futures Podcast heritage series supported by the Heritage Council Heritage Stewardship Fund 2022 is live. The series is cohosted by IMMA’s Heritage Researcher and Historian, Barry Kehoe with Stephen Taylor, IMMA Development and heritage enthusiast. They will interview key specialists and artists who have developed artworks in response to the site heritage and delve into a wide range of related phenomena.

Entrance is free to ‘The Narrow Gate of the Here and Now’ exhibition, which showcases the IMMA Collection and the history of the Museum. So is entrance to ‘Kind Words Can Never Die’, a visually stunning site-specific installation created by Navine G. Khan-Dossos for the IMMA Courtyard.

Visitors are welcome to explore, engage and discover the historical site of the RHK with the IMMA Outdoors programme. From intriguing artist commissions to biodiversity tours and art workshops for all ages, IMMA Outdoors activates 48 acres to open up a public space for all to enjoy. Find out more here.
