Livestock and equestrian competitions at Flavours of Fingal

Flavours of Fingal competitions

The Flavours of Fingal County Show is something of a merger of urban and rural communities, who get to display the best of local Irish food, crafts and trade stands. It will be hosted at Newbridge House & Farm, Donabate, Ireland from 2 to 3 July, 2022.

Punters can also enter their prized livestock in Flavours of Fingal competitions, as well as participate in a range of other competitive events spanning poultry, sheep, beef, dairy and cookery competitions. There’s also an exciting equestrian segment that will appeal to many.

Equestrian showcase

Equestrians can delight in show jumping, showing classes for top quality Irish horses, and pony club games.

A weekend of competition is promised for both riders and spectators – from top riders competing in our National Grand Prix class sponsored by Joe Duffy BMW, to local children in our Boppers and Trotters classes and top quality horses being put through their paces – the organisers hope that there will be something of interest for everyone. So, pack the horse and pony, the family and the picnic blanket and see you there!

Livestock categories

The Fingal Farmers Group are a primary part of the event and present everything from livestock viewing to artisan food.

There will be a huge display of cattle on Saturday and Sunday, with some of the best prize money on the showing circuit up for grabs. A poultry tent will have a display and competition of the finest of local fowl, as well as displays of other animals, including pigs sheep and Alpacas. Return guests include Seamus and his Racing Sheep and Donie Anderson with his faithful dog Jess and their geese to do sheepdog displays.

Popular annual displays include farm machinery and an Arts and Crafts Marquee. A Fingal farmers Artisan Food Hall will be filed with locally produced foods, which can be sampled and purchased. There’ll also be cookery displays. Celebrity Chef Adrian Martin will host a qualifying round of the All Ireland Home Cook Competition.

A Horticultural Tent will offer baking, flower arranging and the best grown produce.
