Ireland all set to host the 17th European Hereford Conference

Irish Hereford Breed Society 17th European Hereford Conference

Representatives of The Irish Hereford Breed Society had a memorable stay in France earlier this year whilst attending the 16th European Hereford Conference. Their visit over the period from 3rd to 7th October saw them bid to host the next event. And with a successful outcome now in the bag, the IHBS are all set to host the 17th European Hereford Conference in August 2026.

This Irish replay is a follow-on to the last conference hosted in the country way back in 2005.

The IHBS’s participation was officiated in France when the Pascal Bastien (French Association President) handed over the European Conference Baton to Ireland – a tradition that began in 1997 by the Estonians.

The upcoming gathering will be held the week of The Tullamore Show in 2026, and will involve a day at the show, farm tours, guest speakers from the industry and much more.

This accolade is another feather in the cap of the Irish Hereford Breed Society this year, whose Secretary Louise Callan reaffirms that 2022 “has been an incredibly positive year for Irish Herefords.”
