Recent figures from the Irish Cattle Breeding Federation (ICBF) show that the total number of calves registered for the year to date is 856,878 head. The week ending 4 March 2022, totalled 139,451 head registered. Compared to the same period last year, registrations are 3,413 head further on. Unauthorised peat extractions focus of inspections says EPA 
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has released its annual summary report, and has highlighted the impact of enforcement efforts conducted in 2021. The focus of the efforts was mainly surrounding ‘unauthorised peat extraction sites’ upon which the EPA had conducted 48 inspections regarding this.
