The 97th Annual Connemara Pony Show will take place from 9 to 12 August, 2022, at The Showgrounds, Clifden in Galway. The Connemara Pony Breeders’ Society is committed to support its members to establish the Connemara Pony as the world’s premier pony for sport and recreation through the provision of services of the highest standards of excellence

The CPBS Annual Show will commence in the Sand Arena at 10am sharp on Tuesday, 9 August. The All-Ireland Connemara Pony Three-Year-Old Loose Jumping Championship will be followed by the All- Ireland Connemara Pony Four-Year-Old Loose Jumping Mare Championship.

There will be an International Reception at 7pm at the Abbeyglen Castle Hotel. All are welcome and this will provide an opportunity to meet with international breeders and visitors.

In-Hand classes will begin at 8.30am in Ring 1 on Wednesday 10 August in Ring One. In-Hand classes will also take place at 8.30am in Ring Two commencing.

Dog Show entries will be taken on the day from 12 noon to 1.45pm. The dog show will start at 2pm, as well as Irish Dancing at 2pm.

What you can see on Thursday, 11 August in Ring One & Ring Two are: 8.30am Ridden classes; 2.30pm Family Working Hunter; 3.30pm Final of the Irish Green Hunter; and 5pm Performance Working Hunter.

At 8pm at Clifden Station House Theatre the Hall of Fame Awards will be followed by a talk with Philip Scott on “The Performance Pony through the Ages”.  No admission fee and everyone welcome.

Friday, 12 August activities in Ring One are: 8.30am Working Hunter classes; 2.30pm Final of the Clifden High Performance; 4.30pm Puissance competition; and 5.30pm Parade of Champions.

There’ll also be face painting, vendor stalls and more.

Admission: Tuesday, 9 August €5 for all. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday: €10 – Adults, €5 – Students and OAP’s, Children under 12 are free
