FMX Motocross stunts at Bonniconlon Show & Gymkhana

Bonniconlon Show & Gymkhana

Bonniconlon Show & Gymkhana is held annually on August Bank Holiday Monday, and boasts a prize fund of up to €45,000. Based in north Mayo, Bonniconlon is a quintessential rural village on the outskirts of Ballina.

Apart from a jam-packed programme aimed to entertain the young and old, this year’s event will feature the FMX Motocross stunt show with Evan Mullarkey and his team, who will perform some amazing feats. Evan is originally from the area, and is top ranked in his profession. He incorporates the latest heart-stopping tricks as seen on TV.

Between shows Evan and his team will be available to meet the public and interact where people can get a closer look at the bikes and meet the riders.

Jez Avery Stunt Show also returns to the Bonniconlon Show. He’s back with various stunts on bicycle, motorbike, quad and car. Jez, who is from the UK, will perform in the stunt show arena from 12pm  over the course of the day.

All the day’s events, on 1 August, 2022, will be held on 200 acres of specially-developed showgrounds. Free parking is available.

The organisers hope to present a show that is more than just an exhibition of live-stock, farm produce, trade stands and jumping – “it is a family orientated event which coincides the August holiday period to bring exiles and migratory workers back together – and in doing so, has become a calendar staple throughout the west of Ireland and beyond.”
