Fiona Cawley exhibition to open 27 July, 2022

Fiona Cawley

Kinvara artist Fiona Cawley presents an exhibition of her work at Fox’s of Kinvara. This event will run for three weeks from 27 July, 2022.

As an emerging artist she recently had a solo show in the Ballina Arts Centre called “A Shared Space”. Cawley has been selected for exhibitions such as Cairde Visual. In 2018, she was shortlisted for the Royal Academy of Art Summer Show, was an invited artist at King House, Boyle Arts Festival in “Gathering”, and invited to exhibit a solo show “GardenLand” in the Arts Corridor, University Hospital Galway (Arts Trust). In 2020 she had a successful solo show in the Ballina Arts Centre and was selected for a three-person show in the Custom Gallery, Westport. That year, she was a recipient of the Heinrich Böll Artist Residency.

Cawley is an expressive painter. Her work often begins as abstract depictions, spontaneously painted without preliminary work planned beforehand. She allows the paint to dictate the start of each painting and uses her imagination when it comes to the subject matter. She is currently working on a new body of work at her Kinvara studio.

She has a BA Art and Design Degree from the Centre for Creative Arts and Media, ATU.

Exhibition dates: 27 July to 17 August, 2022.

Time: 10am to 5pm.

Venue: Fox’s of Kinvara
