Valtra launches Section Control 96 boom feature

Valtra has announced that it has developed a new Section Control 96 which can divide the boom into 96 different sections. The latest development has expanded the in-house control section of Valtra fifth and fourth generation tractors. According to the company, the latest section control development is easy to operate from the screen on its SmartTouch armrest.

Valtra claims that the multiboom feature makes it possible to simultaneously control up to three different booms fully automatically. The new model is ideal for controlling such implements as ISOBUS-compatible seed drills, sprayers, spreaders and row crop cultivators. It is able to manage three booms, or three functions in 36 different sections, should there not be 96 sections to be operated. In adding to the functions of the tractor, it adds the benefit of overseeing a seed drill while applying different materials which are the seed, the main fertiliser and micro nutrient or starter fertiliser.

The company says interface on this latest version is similar to the old one, with only the addition of the extra sections. The new features will be available to customers using Valtra fourth and fifth generation tractors, and they will have free access to the new features once the tractor’s software is updated at the next scheduled service. It is additionally available to fifth generation tractor users immediately while it will be available to fourth generation users later this year.
