Base quotes for R3 grade hoggets up to 22kg ranged from 545-550p/kg across factories in Northern Ireland this past week. The LMC’s (Livestock & Meat Commission) figures show that the average deadweight hogget price in NI last week rose by 11.8p/kg to 541.3p/kg. The Central Statistics Office (CSO) released the Agricultural Land Prices for 2020 on 10 February, 2022. Rare Breeds Trust comments on reducing the life of beef cattle

Farmers across Ireland have been urged to carry out soil analysis in order to determine pH and identify low phosphorus (P) and potash (K) index soils. BirdWatch Ireland has raised concerns that biodiversity measures currently included in Ireland’s CAP Strategic Plan do not go far enough to protect Irish farmland birds.
