A fabulous south Wexford seaside farm has sold for €1.62 million at auction after reaching double the guide price.
The 72.4 acre coastal holding with beach frontage was split into three lots and sold by Quinn Property with LSL Auctions last Wednesday (21 July).
There were 26 registered bidders for the auction. David Quinn, the auctioneer, said there were 26 registered bidders. He said the spectacular price achieved was due to the location, land quality, Covid and the Mediterranean weather.
An 11.67 acre lot with 300m beach frontage between St Helens and Carne, including a derelict building with development potential made €430,000 or €36,846 per acre.
Agricultural land of 55.2 acres that is suitable for most purposes reached €670,000 or €12,000 per acre, while an unfinished bungalow with stunning views towards Tusker Rock made €520,000.
