Countdown for Bank of Ireland Virtual Farm Weekend

Around 30 farms are preparing for this year’s 10th Bank of Ireland Virtual Farm Weekend, which will takes place from Friday 30 July to Sunday 1 August.

The event will showcase traditional farming methods and environmental practices in one of Northern Ireland’s largest awareness initiatives.

Bank of Ireland Open Farm Weekend chair, and deputy president of the Ulster Farmers’ Union, David Brown, said: “We encourage as many people as possible to engage on social media over the Weekend and make the farms feel valued and supported in the incredibly important contribution they make to all our lives”

This year being a virtual event, online viewers will be able to see a range of live farm activities from 10am to 4pm over the three days. Videos will also be streamed on Open Farm Weekend’s social media channels and at www.openfarmweekend.com

Some of the live activities will include sheep dog trials, wool spinning, tag rugby with an Ulster Rugby player, cooking demonstrations with a celebrity chef, alpacas, mountain reared sheep, horses, rare breed hens and pigs.
