Minister Pledges to Support Forgotten Farmers Under the New Cap

The Agriculture Minister has promised to accommodate the ‘forgotten farmers’ in the next CAP. The ‘forgotten farmers’ are a cohort of young farmers under 40, who fell between the cracks in successive CAP cycles and were locked out of the recent cycle. European Commission Considering the Use of Caffeine as an Insecticide

The European Food Safety Authority is reviewing an application to allow caffeine to be used as an insecticide and molluscicide. French-based company Progarein is seeking approval to use caffeine as an insecticide for cabbage, potatoes and buxus and as a molluscicide for slug control in all edible and non-edible crops.
