Community Air Ambulance Called to 46 Farm Accidents

The Irish Community Rapid Response (ICCR) air ambulance responded to 46 farming accidents in 2020, accounting for almost one in 10 incidents. During its first full year in operation the ambulance was called to 490 incidents across 13 counties. The ICRR Air Ambulance, based in Co. The 2021 Basic Payment Scheme (BPS) and Greening Scheme have now opened for applications, the Department of Agriculture has announced. Farmers will be receiving a BPS information pack in the post containing maps and land details over the coming days. Pandemic Blamed for Live Animal Exports Down a Quarter Compared to the Previous Year

Live exports of animals were down 23 per cent last year compared to 2019, the Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine revealed. The Agriculture Minister has promised to accommodate the ‘forgotten farmers’ in the next CAP. The ‘forgotten farmers’ are a cohort of young farmers under 40, who fell between the cracks in successive CAP cycles and were locked out of the recent cycle.
