The ethos of The Birr Vintage Week and Arts Festival is to celebrate, connect, share, transform and surprise. Experience it all from 29 July – 7 August, 2022.
Visual Arts is at the heart of the event, and what you can see are exhibitions, workshops, an Annual Open Submission and Vintage Luminaries at beautiful and historic venues all over Birr. The Courthouse Yard is also a new creative hub this year, so make sure you drop in during the week.
There will be 18 exhibitions on show by international and local artists, and don’t forget to join in on a Visual Arts Trail Launch on Friday, 29 July, at Oxmantown National School at 8pm. There will also be Visual Arts Workshops – The Art Wall, Collage, Bargello and Plein-Air Painting. There will also be a Heritage Trail with a modern twist. These immersive audio-visual installations will use video mapping projection to captivate the viewer at three locations throughout the week. A Trail of Exhibition launches on Friday, 29 July, starting at the Courthouse Yard.
The organisers are leaving online works this year and hosting a physical exhibition curated by Julie Spolle. To submit to the Annual Open Submission Exhibition see here.
Apart from visual arts, the jam-packed Birr Vintage Week and Arts Festival will include theatre, music, street theatre, workshops, other community events and a Vintage Sunday Parade.
