The National Museum of Ireland – Natural History is closed for important building works, but they have planned some short “Museum at Home” activities to keep young ones entertained this summer.
Online Video: What is Camouflage?
Join a National Museum Educator in this two-minute video to discover more about camouflage and why animals use it. Then download and print this activity sheet and test your own camouflage and seeking skills. You can complete this activity in your garden, local park, beach, or even by using the 3D Virtual Visit.
There are many more activities to enjoy from finding animals hidden in a South American rain forest with another activity sheet to playing a game of predators and prey at home.
Don’t forget you can also find your favourite animal or fossil on display this summer with an online tour of the Museum using the 3D Virtual Visit. To make a virtual visit to one of the four floor levels of the museum, just click on one of the four 3D Showcases. These take a short time to load and are then best viewed at full screen.
These interactive presentations were created by Domavue and require up-to-date versions of Internet browsers (Chrome, Safari, Internet Explorer, Firefox).
