Highlights at Charleville Agricultural Show

Charleville Agricultural Show

The Charleville Agricultural Show makes for a great family day out. The event will run on 25 and 26 June, 2022, at Ballyhea, Pike Cross, Ballyhea in Charleville.

Established in 1979, it has grown from strength to strength every year. With numerous interesting events to be seen, varying from judging of cattle, horses, sheep, horticulture, dogs, arts & crafts, cookery and numerous children’s competitions, live music, pets corner, kids entertainment and a large display of trade stands and vintage machinery, there is something for everyone.

Attractions highlighted at the two-day show are The Garda Band, judging of Pony Classes, Judging of Dairy & Beef Classes, exciting Pony Club games, judging of Sheep and Horse Classes, a large Vintage Rally, and a Dog Show and Baby Show.

The driving force behind the whole venture was the late Canon Donal O’Driscoll. He called a meeting of a small number of interested people together, they met at Cronins Hotel in November 1978. He put forward a number of reasons why Charleville should have its own show.

The central location of Charleville, in the heart of Munster, proves to be a huge attraction to a wide range of exhibitors.
