Register for a farm walk during Teagasc’s June series of organic farming demonstrations and learn more about organic production first-hand.
Teagasc advisers, Department of Agriculture, Food & the Marine representatives, the Organic Certification Bodies, and the farmers themselves will be available on the day. They will answer questions and give guidance to farmers and members of the public interested to see organic farming in practice, and keen to meet and speak with the producers and sector experts.
The 2022 series covers dairy, beef, sheep, cereals, poultry, vegetable growing, agri-tourism, and more. You can book for each walk individually.
Sheep, cereals, and beef finishing is the focus of the farm walk at Fergal Byrne, Calverstown Little, Dunlavin, Co. Kildare. Eircode: W91 X8F5. This will take place on Wednesday, 8 June at 2pm.
You can learn more about suckler to beef and cereals on Wednesday, 15 June at 2pm. This is scheduled for the farm of Donal and Frederique Keane, Camelton Stud, Summerhill, Co. Meath. Eircode: A83 TR83.
The final organic farm walk in the Teagasc June series will focus on beef and direct selling. This will take place on the farm of Clive Bright, Ardsallagh, Ballymote, Co. Sligo. Eircode: F56 PP79. Book for this farm walk on Wednesday, 22 June at 2pm.
