Kuhn’s latest 600hp tractor, the Kuhn Optimer model, is set to make waves in the agricultural sector as its 12m width is claimed to maintain a uniform working depth at high speeds. It features a steady control system, which additionally exerts equal pressure across the full width of the machine. Believed to be a range that compensates for ground contours, it performs impeccably regardless of land and soil conditions.
The exertion of this machine ensures that the discs are cut at an equal depth even when ground is uneven. According to a company spokesperson, this top end Kuhn Optimer model can run at up to 15km/h while maintaining a consistent depth across the width, allowing a high work rate of up to 45ac/hr.
An added factor to the release is that when folded the 12m model is just 3m wide and 4m high. As the manufacturer has continually updated the Optimer model, it says that the XL segment is now available in mounted and trailed models with working widths of 3m-12m. All models feature independent 620mm diameter discs which can work at depths of 5-15cm.
All the machines are designed to improve the management of field residue such as maize stalks, and green cover crops, and are available with five different roller options.
