Thursday, 27th April – Evening and Overnight:
The UK will experience predominantly overcast skies accompanied by rain or drizzle, with heavier downpours in some areas. The rainfall is expected to gradually subside from the west, though cloud cover, mist, hill fog, and light drizzle will persist. Temperatures will be milder across the country, with the south enjoying relatively warmer conditions.
Friday, 28th April:
In the northern and eastern regions, rain and drizzle will slowly clear, with Shetland experiencing a more gradual improvement. Remaining areas will see predominantly cloudy skies. Bright or sunny intervals will emerge in other regions, making for pleasant conditions in the sunshine.
Bank Holiday Weekend Outlook (Saturday to Monday):
The holiday weekend will be characterized by a mix of sun and showers for most, as showers move in from the west on Saturday and clear eastward by Monday. These showers may be heavy and accompanied by thunder at times. Warmer temperatures are expected.
Tuesday, 2nd May – Thursday, 11th May:
Tuesday’s weather will generally be fine and dry for many areas, though some light showers may occur. Light winds and a range of temperatures are anticipated, with below-normal readings in the north and near or slightly above normal in the south. Coastal low clouds and sea fog should gradually dissipate in the far south. High pressure is predicted to be positioned east of the UK, initially leading to settled conditions and warm, dry weather. Frontal zones could introduce rain and low clouds, particularly in the west, but they are more likely to trigger showers as they progress across the nation. Some of these showers could be heavy and thunderous.
Friday, 12th May – Friday, 26th May:
The early part of this period will remain unsettled and variable. As we head into the latter half of May, confidence in the forecast diminishes, with equal chances for either fine or changeable conditions. The likelihood of significant windy spells is lower than usual, and overall, temperatures are expected to be above average.
