Clouds Prevail, Showers Expected Across the Country: Ireland Weather Forecast

April 27, 2023 – The national weather forecast for Thursday, April 27th, predicts predominantly cloudy skies with only a few bright spells. Showery rain is anticipated to gradually spread northeastward, primarily affecting Connacht, west Munster, and later Ulster. Areas near the Atlantic coasts should brace for heavy downpours. With light to moderate southeast winds, temperatures will range from 11 to 15 degrees Celsius, with the warmest conditions in the west.

As night falls, cloud cover is expected to persist, accompanied by rain or drizzle, particularly in the south. Mist and fog will likely develop as winds become light, variable, and occasionally calm. Fresh westerly winds are predicted along the south coast, while temperatures will dip to 7 to 9 degrees Celsius.

As the day progresses, brighter skies will emerge with sunny intervals and scattered afternoon showers. Some showers may be heavy, and coastal areas might experience lingering low clouds. Temperatures will peak at 14 to 18 degrees Celsius, accompanied by light westerly breezes.

Looking ahead, the national outlook suggests mixed weather, including rain, showers, and dry periods. Temperatures are forecast to reach the mid to high teens in predominantly light winds.

Friday night will see clear spells initially, followed by increasing cloud cover from the west and rain outbreaks. Temperatures will remain between 7 and 11 degrees Celsius, with fog patches likely to form in light, variable breezes.

Saturday, 29th April

Saturday will kick off with a mostly cloudy morning and intermittent light rain or drizzle. Sunny spells and scattered showers will develop throughout the day, potentially turning heavy in the northeast. Temperatures will range from 15 to 18 degrees Celsius in light southwesterly or variable winds.

Saturday night will feature clear spells and isolated showers before cloudier conditions and showery rain arrive from the west. Once again, temperatures will hover between 7 and 11 degrees Celsius in light southerly or variable winds.

Sunday, 30th April

Sunday’s forecast includes showery morning rain, followed by sunny spells and widespread showers, some of which may be heavy. Temperatures will peak at 14 to 18 degrees Celsius, with cooler conditions along the Atlantic coast. Light southwesterly breezes will gradually strengthen to moderate westerly winds. Showers will become isolated early in the night, with clouds building from the northwest and temperatures remaining between 7 and 10 degrees Celsius.

Monday, 1st May

On Public Holiday Monday, morning and afternoon sunny spells and scattered showers are expected, with most areas drying out by evening as showers dissipate. Temperatures will generally reach 14 to 17 degrees Celsius in mostly light northwesterly winds.

Beyond Monday, current indications suggest predominantly dry weather through midweek, with occasional showers. Temperatures are forecast to remain in the mid to high teens, accompanied by mostly light winds.
