This week Castleisland Co-op Livestock Mart has seen strong demand for top quality stock with 5 super yellow bulls weighing 330kgs reaching €1090. The mart also says that calf sales have resumed with fantastic quality on offer. Prices of up to €600 were reached for quality lots, with a full ring of customers in attendance. Shipping calves traded from €45-80, with the well fed Fr calves reaching €120.
Today, Wednesday, 15th February, there’ll be a General Sale of Cows, Bulls, Sucklers, Bullocks and Heifers, including a Special Sale of Heavy Fat Cows and Forward Store Cattle.
Note that transport can be arranged from all areas .
Castleisland has put out a call to farmers for all types of 2-year old stock, which is required urgently – especially HeX/AAX.
