The Cooley Sheep Breeders Annual Show and Sale takes place at Carnaross Mart this Saturday, 3 September, 2022, Greenore Rd Carlingford. This will be the biggest outdoor sale in the country and offers a great opportunity to get your flock ready ahead of breeding season.
LSL chatted to the mart’s Emma Muldoon, who confirmed that there will be over 3200 sheep. “There’ll be a mix of breeds, and it will be all female sheep who are born for breeding. It will only be sheep from the Cooley area,” she said.
Emma reports that the trade in sheep has been good for the last week, and she expects there to be high clearance.
“It will be well-organised and we expect a large audience. It is also an event for local farmers to come and look,” she added.
All sheep will be clean and healthy and all electronic tagged.
There will be free haulage available nationwide.
The sale will begin at 10:30 sharp with sheep going through the ring under marquee.
