ICOS Skillnet has confirmed the launch of its 2022 – 2023 programme. A free Co-operative and Farm Business Development Programme targets young farmers, and is designed to advance the management skills of participants and increase their understanding of the co-operative sector. The course starts in October 2022 and finishes in June 2023.
This online, interactive learning programme includes discussion forums and in-person sessions. Most of the lessons will be self-directed, with modules including Business Risks, Markets and Agricultural Policy. At the end, participants will receive a certificate of completion from ICOS Skillnet.
Applicants from related disciplines who wish to develop their skills in the farming and co-operative sectors are also invited to apply.
The Co-operative and Farm Business Development Programme only accepts a limited number of participants, so entries will be accepted on a first come first served basis.
Attendees will also be entered into a draw, which will enable winners to take part in an international study-visit programme. With six places (three male, three female) available as part of this international study-visit opportunity, the lucky participants will visit three European countries to learn about how co-operatives in these countries operate and engage with young farmers. The study trip will facilitate a networking opportunity with fellow farmers involved in co-operatives across Europe.
Applications are now open, to register see here. The closing date for applications is 30 September 2022.
