Home planning permissions increase by over 21%

The latest statistics from the Central Statistics Office (CSO) indicate that planning permissions were granted for 8,463 new homes between January and March of 2022 – of which 4,687 were houses and 3,776 were apartments. The number of animals to be slaughtered at a new meat plant at Banagher, Co Offaly, is estimated at 36,000 per annum. This is as An Bord Pleanala granted planning permission for the contentious €40m Chinese-backed processing plant.
