With World Environment Day celebrated across the globe yesterday, 5 June, 2022, OMEGA is raising awareness for the thought-provoking documentary, ‘Legacy’, the latest shared by the brand and the GoodPlanet Foundation, a renowned organisation founded by Yann Arthus-Bertrand.

Supporting our world is one of OMEGA’s greatest passions. The brand is proud to have worked with GoodPlanet since 2011, helping to promote their message of sustainable development while also highlighting the challenges linked to climate change and loss of biodiversity. The film has now been distributed to both sides of the Atlantic, and is broadcast on Amazon Prime Video in the US, UK and Ireland.

“Through our historic exploration of ocean, Earth and space, OMEGA has always known the importance of protecting this beautiful world. We feel a true responsibility for raising awareness, and this incredible documentary does that in a very powerful way,” says Raynald Aeschlimann, OMEGA President and CEO.

‘Legacy’ takes the viewer into the most beautiful landscapes of the planet while also guiding us through a formidable human epic. On the one hand, there is the central place of energy in the cycle of living beings. On the other, there are the two advantages of Man – intelligence and collaboration. The film explains how we were able to gradually move from fascination to horror. From dangerous world to dangerous world.

But solutions to our challenges do exist, and Yann Arthus-Bertrand, through his heritage, hopes to initiate a “spiritual revolution” to reconcile us with nature and “to change our vision of progress”. In one of his most personal films, the director rallies us to his cause, to face the truth and conceive the future with love and empathy.
