The Narrow Gate of the Here-and-Now: Celebrating 30 years of IMMA is on at the Irish Museum of Modern Art until Sunday, 31 July, 2022 from 10am to 5.30pm.
Entry is free to the exhibition, which showcases the IMMA Collection and the history of the Museum since 1991. This is a major exhibition presenting more than 200 artworks in four themed chapters in the IMMA Main Galleries. It also showcases a selection of recently acquired artworks to the Collection through a fund from the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media.
Each chapter explores the past three decades through different thematic approaches. The chapters are titled as follows: Chapter One – Queer Embodiment; Chapter Two – The Anthropocene; Chapter Three – Social Fabric and Chapter Four – Protest and Conflict.
This is the first time that the entire Museum has been given over to a display from the IMMA Collection and presents this number of artworks. The exhibition explores ideas of bodily autonomy, conflict and protest, the Anthropocene era, and digital technologies.

Wednesday: 11.30am – 5.30pm
