The Housing Supply Clearing House Measure is being introduced in anticipation that some people displaced by the Ukraine conflict will require temporary accommodation in Ireland over the medium to long term.
The Housing Supply Clearing House process is aimed at facilitating consideration of matters that might warrant action being taken by the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, local authorities, or other State agencies, to expedite the delivery of housing with planning permission.
Accommodation developed through the Housing Supply Clearing House process will eventually support the State’s overall accommodation provision.
It is proposed to establish the Housing Supply Clearing House Group this month. This group will consider proposals submitted under the measure according to certain criteria and make recommendations to the Minister. The members of the group will, following consideration of expressions of interest received, be appointed by the Minister for a term of at least six months.
The invitation to submit proposals for consideration under the measure is open to those holding valid planning permission that may be eligible as well as infrastructure providers responsible for the delivery of infrastructure required to support housing development. Submissions should be returned via [email protected] no later than 5pm on 15 June, 2022.
