Ireland Weather Forecast: Friday 9 April

Friday will be a colder day with sunny spells and showers, some turning heavy with hail and risk of thunderstorms. Rain may turn into sleet over the northern part of the country with snow on higher ground later in the day. Highest temperatures of 5 to 9C coldest over Ulster, with a light north breeze.

Turning cold on Friday night with temperatures dropping to -4 to 2C, with a widespread frost and some ice. It will be dry in most places, with some scattered rain, hail, sleet and snow showers in the north and north west.
