2,000 bulls wanted for shipment to Libya

Exporters are seeking 2,000 bulls from Ireland to be shipped abroad for Libyan farms. 

Curzon Livestock are looking to source Friesian bulls weighing 250 – 400Kg and coloured bulls weighing up to 550kg by the middle of April. The selected bulls are scheduled to be taken by boat for the Libyan market.

According to the latest Bord Bia figures, there have been 3,032 head of cattle shipped to Libya in 2021 (up to the week ending March 20). In 2021, total live exports have reached 72,011, ahead of the same period in 2020 by 1,023 head.
