IWT opposes redesignation of 466 water bodies as ‘highly modified’
The Irish Wildlife Trust is opposed to the redesignation of 466 water bodies as ‘highly modified’. It says the move could leave thousands of kilometres of river permanently degraded and near lifeless. The Irish Wildlife Trust has responded to the public consultation from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regarding the matter.  Under the EU’s Water Framework Directive (WFD) Ireland was to have achieved ‘good status’ for all our water bodies by 2015…
