Painful cattle disease on the way out in New Zealand
New Zealand is one farm away from obliterating mycoplasma bovis disease, a painful cattle disease that plagues the farming industry. Agriculture Minister Damien O’Connor said that only one farm still had to wipe out this cattle disease, but 271 farms have been successful at eradicating it entirely. Dairy farmers positive about sector, report reveals
Ifac’s 2022 Irish Farm Report has revealed that 77% of dairy farmers have a positive outlook for the dairy sector, as overall dairy production increased by 6% in 2021. The net margins for dairy production additionally rose by 15.1c/L. Dairygold confirms an increase in March milk supplies 
Milk suppliers are expected to receive an increase in the price paid for supplies in March, this was the announcement made by Dairygold. ICMSA urges farmers to make high quality silage
Farmers have been urged to make plenty of high quality silage over the coming weeks. According to Irish Creamery Milk Suppliers’ Association president, Pat McCormack, this comes in the case of producers who plan on carrying high stock levels next winter. Lakeland Dairies reports a 20% revenue increase  
Lakeland Dairies has reported a revenue increase of 20% to €1.3 billion as it published its annual results for 2021. The increase was seen across the processor’s four operating divisions namely:  Food ingredients Foodservice Consumer Foods Agribusiness  According to the results, group revenues rose by €217.7 million from the 2020 figure of almost €1.1 billion.
