Consumer prices increased by 0.4% in July

The latest Consumer Price Index published by the Central Statistics Office (CSO) shows that prices rose by 9.1% in the year to July 2022, which is the largest annual increase in the CPI since Quarter 2 1984 when annual inflation was 9.7%. The Central Statistics Office (CSO) has released new estimated inflation rates to June 2022. These show lower income households experienced inflation rates of up to 10.3% compared to 8.2% for highest income households. The Central Statistics Office (CSO) published an update on prices for consumer goods and services on May 12, showing that CPI was up by 7% in April – year on year.
