A 24-acre non-res farm in Mullingar has been sold for €460,000 by Murtagh Bros and LSL Auctions.At the online auction yesterday (Thursday) the price reached equates to €18585.86 per acre. A guide price of €300,000 had been expected for the land. The National Farmers’ Union says the Government should invest more to help open new markets for British agriculture. The Irish Government is negotiating with farmers over compensation as mink farms are phased out across the country.  Ministers are following up on a commitment in the Programme for the Government to close Ireland’s last three mink farms.
