Farmers and landowners are being urged to take extra care after a high level warning was issued for fires in the coming weeks. Due to current dry weather conditions and high temperatures, a high fire risk is deemed to exist in all areas where hazardous fuels such as dead grasses and shrub fuels such as heather and gorse exist. The incomes of Irish farmers rose by 9 per cent in the last year, despite the pandemic, a new Teagasc study found. Farmers in Northern Ireland have been urged to ensure the highest levels of biosecurity after a number of outbreaks of infectious laryngotraceitis (ILT).
