There was no announced change to Irish pig prices on Friday, 1 July, 2022 with farmers receiving quotes of €1.88c/kg up to €1.94 or €1.92 to €1.96/kg. New research published 6 July, 2022 by the Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI) finds that fewer people will be homeowners by the time they retire. Minister Paschal Donohoe has indicated that vacant homes will face a new tax in the next budget.
