Women in Irish farming are calling for a ‘culture change’ to achieve gender balance in the sector. English farmers are being offered grants of up to £5,000 by Defra if they restock trees that are diseased or pest-ridden. Funding of €30/ewe main priority for sheep farmers in next CAP
The IFA has called on the Government to provide €30/ewe for sheep farmers in the next Common Agricultural Policy (CAP). Cattle that have not been tested for Bovine Viral Diarrhoea (BVD) will be prohibited from moving to slaughterhouses from next month, DEARA confirmed.
