The Sixmilebridge Mart is gearing up to host its Premier Autumn Born Weanling Show and Sale. This premier event is slated to occur over two exciting days, with the Belgian Blues show happening on the 15th of July, followed by the Charolais and Limousines on the 22nd of July.

The much-anticipated event, offering an impressive total prize money of €5700, is creating quite a stir amongst the weanling breeders. The show, divided into several classes, guarantees substantial rewards for the top-tier animals. The first prize for both heifers and bulls, as single animals, is a generous sum of €400, while the second and third place winners will receive €200 and €100 respectively.
Adding a unique spin to the traditional prizes, the show also offers a €250 prize for the best pair sold at the highest price per kilogram. However, entrants should note that both heifers and bulls must be entered into the show first to qualify for this category.
Entries are required to be submitted to the office before the 10th of July at 5pm. And it is imperative to note that only homebred weanlings are eligible to participate. Moreover, the weanlings must be born on or after the 1st of July 2022 and on or before the 31st of December 2022.
On the day of the event, all entries must arrive in the yard before 9:30 am. The judging process will take place between 10:00 am and 11:00 am. The cattle entered into the show will be the first pens sold.
The Premier Autumn Born Weanling Show and Sale is expected to draw a large entry of stock due to the attendance of top buyers. This presents a fantastic opportunity for breeders to showcase their best weanlings. All sales must be finalised on the day for the winners to claim their respective prize money.
