Ballinasloe Mart’s top cattle price from Saturday was in Lot 310. The Cow & Calf fetched €2790.00, (Breed: SIX – DOB: 09/03/2018 – Owners: 1 – Export: R – QA: Y – TB: 17/09/2022 – Days in Herd: 70 – Export Retest: R). Weight 505, and Price per kg 5.524752475. Meanwhile, the price per kg for Lot 320 reached 8.710801394.
Commenting on their selection of prices from their sheep sale last week on 16th February 2023, the mart said there was a good turnout of sheep on offer with prices slightly back for lighter Hoggets, while Heavy Hoggets were selling well.
Stag Ewes saw an improved trade on last week with Fat Ewes being in strong demand. Inlamb Ewes saw a good clearance but prices were back on previous weeks with older ewes a tougher sell, while young ewes saw stronger prices.
