Waterford Truck Show at Dungarvan Agricultural Show

Dungarvan Agricultural Show

The Dungarvan Agricultural Show is one of the longest running shows in the country, and it returns for the 103rd year on Sunday, 10 July 2022. The showcase is a traditional event set on almost 90 acres. When it was first staged in 1917 the mission was that local producers would be given a platform to display their stock and home grown produce with a particular emphasis on education.

A new inclusion this time round will be The Waterford Truck Show. In recent years this has attracted entries from throughout Ireland and the UK, and they should provide quite a visual spectacle.

The Dungarvan Show hosts a range of exhibitors, and in the Showjumping rings many famous riders compete. The ridden Hunter rings, the young horse rings, the pony rings and the breeding rings are always packed.

For many young children, Dungarvan Agricultural Show provides the opportunity to compete in public for the first time. In the Cattle and Sheep rings beautiful animals from all the different breeds are shown by exhibitors from throughout Munster.

Home industries are a huge part of the day and from early morning a Home Industries marquee boasts a huge array of Floral, Vegetable and Fruit exhibits. The popular Arts and Crafts section is also always well supported. Dog lovers can enjoy a Dog Show, plus there’ll be a large trade stand exhibition and artisan food stalls dotted around the grounds.

Live music will be provided by Roisin Dubh. Further treats include a Falconry display and a Kiddies Corner.
