Good returns predicted for world dairy market in the near future
It appears that the global dairy market will provide good returns for the foreseeable future due to reduced global milk supply. This is as key Irish milk processors raised their milk prices by at least 2c/L this week. The Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board’s (AHDB) confirmed that the world’s milk production recorded a year-on-year deficit in March 2022, with total milk deliveries across the key producing countries down 0.7% since 2021.…

Pig price in Ireland static for another week
Farmers received quotes from €1.78c/kg to €1.82 or €1.84 to €1.88/kg last week, leaving the Irish pig price unchanged for the larger processing plants compared to the prior week, says the Irish Farmers Association. The weekly throughput for the week ending 12 June, 2022 was 59,068. Pig farmers are reporting feed costs of up to €1.81/kg depending on how farms have bought feed forward. Weekly throughput for beef continues to fall
Supplies continue to tighten with last week’s (12 June 2022) beef throughput down for the sixth consecutive week when bank holidays are considered. That’s according to IFA livestock chairman Brendan Golden, who said the weekly throughput has dropped by over 7,000 head since the end of April to just 30,112 (last week) with further reductions anticipated in the coming weeks.
