The engine of Zetor’s Proxima mid-range tractor has been given a makeover as the company has confirmed that it has shifted the power range from 76 to 117hp across its four models. The latest upgrade has given the model range the advantage of low running costs while improving its reliability and simplicity.
Zetor notes that the revamped tractors offer improved controls on the dashboard, a repositioned compressed air outlet and a transmission-oil clogging indicator.
With the transmission oil-clogging indicator accessible under the tractor cabin, it allows the operator to easily check the cleanliness of the oil. The modified four-cylinder engine from Deutz means that the new tractors are now fully Stage V compliant, whereas the previous machines only met Stage III B. According to technical director of Zetor, Mareck Buchar, the modified engine is equipped with a modern common-rail injection system which leads to a significantly smoother and quieter engine operation. A bonus to the latest development is that due to its 21L urea tank, topping up is now an infrequent affair.
The Proxima range of tractors was first introduced in 2004 as the company dug its way out of a financial crisis which had seen the workforce drop from over 10,000, to around 1,200.
The range is expected to be released later this year.
