Fendt has announced that it will stop production of its Rogator 300 series trailed sprayer range in the second quarter of this year. This comes as a result of Fendt parent company AGCO Corporation’s realignment with the new Farmer First strategy. The manufacturer’s focus on trailed sprayer production is expected to shift, based on the changing market and customer requirements enforced by upcoming EU regulation to reduce the use of plant protection products in Europe.
According to a statement released by Fendt they are to focus on the area of self-propelled machines for efficient and sustainable crop protection. However, the firm has reassured customers that the machines ordered will still be delivered, and the availability of service and spare parts will still continue.
This would be the second manufacturer making the announcement of such news, as Lemken did the same in the discontinuation of its sprayer range in order to focus on the manufacture and development of its Steketee mechanical weeding technology.
The Rogator 300 which was built in Germany alongside the self-propelled 600 models, the range was first marketed in 2015, under the yellow Challenger brand. A decision by AGCO two years later, saw the decision to introduce the Challenger brand out of Europe and into the Middle East.
