There have been 2,274 new tractors licensed in Ireland so far this year, according to information compiled by the Department of Transport.
Between January to October 2021, the Central Statistics Office (CSO) said along with the 2,274 new tractors licenced there have been 2,927 used tractors licensed.
Compared to the same period in 2020, there were 1,994 new tractors registered and 2,039 imported licensed.
October 2020, proved to be a popular month with 163 new tractors licensed up on those in the same month for previous years.
There have been 204 licensed used tractors in October 2021, compared to 273 in 2020 and 192 in 2019.
The figures are based on the National Vehicle and Driver File and published by the Central Statistics Office (CSO).
Electric vehicles have continued to grow in popularity with the share of new electric and plug-in-hybrid electric vehicles having doubled over the past year.
Electric vehicles now make up 15.7 per cent of all new cars so far in 2021 compared to 7.4 per cent for the same period in 2020.
