The weather to turn progressively colder this evening with showers and light winds predicted.
Today (Thursday) will mostly be cloudy with further showers or longer spells of rain with the heaviest showers in Ulster. There will be sunny spells with the highest temperatures of 5 to 6C in the northwest and from 7 to 9C elsewhere. Light northerly breezes in Ulster and Connacht and more moderate southwest winds in Munster and Leinster.
Showers will clear in the midlands, east and south this evening but will continue to affect western and north western areas. Temperatures will drop to 0 to 3C with patchy frost forming by dawn. There will be fresh to strong northerly winds on Connacht and west Ulster coasts.
