Freezing cold weather is predicted for this weekend as baltic conditions move over Ireland.
Ireland is set for more snowfall along with heavy rain showers with the risk of hail and isolated thunderstorms are expected.
Met Eireann predicts significant snowfall in some areas next week with snow also set to fall over the weekend.
The national forecaster says Friday will bring a cold northerly air-flow with a cold weekend to follow ahead of a turn for the worse next week.
The next few days are set to turn progressively colder and Friday night could bring frost and ice in sheltered spots with temperatures dropping to zero. Temperatures will drop further on Saturday with a minimum of minus 2C.
Sunday will start cold and breezy with the frost and ice clearing in the morning before things get wintery in parts of the country. Scattered snow in eastern counties at the start of the week with widespread frost and ice.
