Have a look at Tullamore Mart today (Thursday 4 February) where we have a bullock (Lot number 185) that is being auctioned by Richard and Ann Scally, from Ballycommon, to raise vital funds for the Hooves 4 Hospice Project.
Farmers are donating animals in order to raise money in aid of a much needed regional hospice in the midlands. Laois, Offaly, Longford and Westmeath is the only region in Ireland that does not have a Regional Level 3 Palliative Care Hospice.
Launched in January 2020, the project has seen more than 420 young animals being reared by farmers participating in the scheme. When the animals are reared and sold the entire proceeds are donated to the project.
